Our cohort were given the opportunity to visit DMM Wales for the chance to see a product being progressed from initial prototyping through to die fabrication and batch manufacture.
Seeing these manufacturing principles applied at a world-class facility right here in Wales really brought our textbook theory to life. It was fascinating to witness how DMM balances precision engineering with high-volume production, especially seeing how critical safety equipment is rigorously tested to meet global standards. The visit didn’t just highlight the technical side of metallurgy and automation; it gave our entire cohort a much clearer picture of what a dynamic, modern career in British manufacturing actually looks like.
