Professor Bill Lee has been presented with the Wendell D. Weart Career Achievement Award. Bill was nominated for the award based on his outstanding contributions to the discipline of nuclear waste management for the past 40 years and for his national and international recognition in the field.
A new research seminar series centred around STEM and Medicine has begun in Bangor University. The NFI\’s own Dr Lee Evitts, Sêr Cymru Lecturer in Nuclear Medicine delivered the second lecture of the series where he shares his exepertise in the field.
Many people are frightened of radiation, thinking of it as an invisible, man-made and deadly force, and this fear often underpins opposition to nuclear power. In fact, most radiation is natural and life on Earth wouldn’t be possible without it.
