Dr. Marat Margulis
Lecturer in Reactor Design & Thermal Hydraulics
Marat is a Lecturer in Reactor Design and Thermal Hydraulics. He joined the Nuclear Future Institute at Bangor University in May 2021. Dr Margulis received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 2012, M.Sc. in Energy Engineering in 2014, and PhD in Nuclear Engineering in 2018 from Ben-Gurion University, Israel.
Marat’s PhD was a collaborative work between Ben-Gurion University and the Experimental Physics Service at CEA (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives) Cadarache. During his stay in France, he helped to develop an innovative methodology for experiments design in Zero Power Reactors. In 2018, he joined the University of Cambridge as a Research Associate and was elected as a Research Fellow at Trinity Hall College.
Dr Margulis has experience developing advanced methods for the analysis of advanced nuclear systems, reactor physics, and thermal-hydraulics.
