Professor Bill Lee has been presented with the Wendell D. Weart Career Achievement Award. Bill was nominated for the award based on his outstanding contributions to the discipline of nuclear waste management for the past 40 years and for his national and international recognition in the field.
The Wendell D. Weart Career Achievement award is given on behalf of the WMS (Waste Management Symposia) selection committee and was formally presented to Prof. Lee at the WMS Honors and Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
The annual WMS conference provides an open forum for discussing safe, environmentally friendly and technically sound solutions to the management of radioactive waste. The principles of the WMS aim to enhance the transparency and credibility of the global radioactive waste industry.
