
Brian Murcutt
Operational Manager
Brian started work at Bangor University in 1988 for 35 years working in the Finance Office, dealing with many different finance related duties. For 33 years, he has been managing a large portfolio of research grants and contract projects, ranging from Research Councils, charities, government, company, and knowledge transfer partnerships (KTP).
In 2004 he administered the Developing Research Skills Objective One (ESF) funded project, this was followed in 2005 with the Research Skills Training project, also funded through Objective One (ESF) funding; this project was the first collaboration with Aberystwyth University and Swansea University.
In 2009, he was appointed as Project Administrator for the Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships (KESS) project, funded through convergence (ESF) funding, a collaboration Led by Bangor University for the whole HEI Universities in Wales (Aberystwyth University, University of South Wales, Swansea University, Cardiff University, Cardiff Metropolitan University and University of Wales, Trinity of Saint David).
In 2016 Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships 2 (KESS 2) West operation, and in 2019 the Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships 2 (KESS 2) East Operation, funded by European Social Fund 2014-20 were awarded, to which he was appointed as the KESS 2 Wales Co-ordinator. These were also collaborative operations led by Bangor University on behalf of the HEI Universities in Wales.
Brian have recently been appointed as the Operational Manager for the Nuclear Futures Institute (NFI), looking to support the Institute working with Partners and NFI staff.
