Dr. Fiona Pearce
Post-doctoral Researcher in Nuclear Medicine
Fiona joined the Nuclear Futures Institute in March 2021 as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Nuclear Medicine. Her research interests include radiation detection and instrumentation in Nuclear Medicine and novel applications of radioisotopes.
She completed her PhD in experimental Nuclear Physics at the University of Liverpool characterising a segmented inverted-coaxial germanium gamma-ray detector. During this period Fiona gained experience in experimental radiation detection with a range of scintillator and semiconductor detector types, signal generation, pulse shape analysis and signal processing.
Prior to this, Fiona worked as a Clinical Technologist in Nuclear Medicine in the NHS, gaining practical experience in diagnostic imaging and radionuclide therapy.
