Bio
Mehdi joined the Nuclear Futures institute as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in mid 2021. His research interest includes exploring at the atomic scale the structure and the response of glasses under different conditions and using various simulations techniques. Mehdi completed his PhD at L’Université Hassan 2 de Casablanca, Morocco, working on the role of a variety of oxides on the structure-property relationship in silicate glasses.
Mehdi’s main responsibilities at Bangor University includes modelling glasses for nuclear waste immobilization, amorphous phases in fuel and cladding materials and contribute to research activities on sensor development
