Dr Jack Callaghan

Jack joined the Nuclear Futures Institute as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in August 2023 to work within the Structural Integrity team. His research focuses on the modelling and testing of structural materials for nuclear applications.

His interests are the characterisation of materials produced using advanced manufacturing methods, high-temperature behaviour of structural materials, and multi-scale numerical modelling.

Jack completed his PhD at the University of Southampton in 2022 working on high-fidelity testing of complex composite structures. This involved the development and commissioning of a structural test rig with multiple actuators. He then continued this work as a Research Associate at the University of Bristol in 2022.
