Josh obtained a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering at Bangor University in 2025, having completed his final year project on the use of Stirling engine power systems for space exploration and the use of additive manufacturing methods to fabricate components. Josh joined the Nuclear Futures Institute at Bangor University having secured PhD funding through a sponsored studentship by Roll Royce. His PhD work focuses on alternative fabrication methods for TRISO fuel production. For his work, Josh will be using additive manufacturing processes such as binder jet printing and spray drying. This PhD is supervised by Professor Simon Middleburgh, co-director of the Nuclear Futures Institute.
