Job: Postdoctoral Research Associate in Fusion Power Plant Regulation

PDRA Opportunity in Fusion Power Plant Regulation

NFI is looking for a PDRA to deliver a project on the development of a fusion power plant (FPP) regulatory framework to enable the global deployment of FPPs. The project is funded by the Clean Air Task Force based in Boston MA USA and will be initially for 18 months, with the possibility of extension to 24 months. The project will be under the supervision of Professor Laurence Williams OBE FREng FLSW in the Nuclear Futures Institute at Bangor University, North Wales. The successful candidate will support the Project Management Board and will be expected to travel to London, Europe and North America. The publication of research papers in suitable academic journals is encouraged. The output from the project will be used to show how a harmonised approach to FPP regulation can be developed and to help regulatory authorities in countries wishing to deploy FFPs to develop their own regulatory frameworks to reflect the hazard potential of FPPs .
